Now I am ready to act on what I see.
My hand softly grasps the handle of this half-closed door
my eyes wander around a bit, peek inside again.
I take a deep breath and then I step back,
feel how this movement closes the door.
I hear the lock klick and my heart skips a beat.
Reluctantly I let go of the doorknob
and take another step back.
And suddenly next to me
a trail appears.
Not the same as before, but still mine.
Rolling my eyes at the universe, and me, for being blind before, I delightedly step on the trail. I trust it will take me on.
