joy

there is a hunger in me
that can not be saturated
by my favourite pasta
a thirst in me
that is not stilled
by drinking enough water

it can only be ebbed
by these magical moments in life that
take my breath away
and fill my lungs with pure joy instead
-small and quiet ones mostly,
simple pleasurable moments often
yet deeply fulfilling –

most I’ve felt lately
I’ve had with you
or thanks to you
