This day

was as perfect as it could be,
as normal as it was unexpectedly perfect.
I had breakfast with my family,
I got some presents, and a home-made cake,
we fooled around and played games,
we sunbathed and had a barbecue
and some drinks.
I talked to my boyfriend on the phone,
and exchanged cheesy messages.
I got calls and cute messages from friends.
I talked to my mum in the garden,
teased my dad
and laughed with my sister,
and I cuddled the cats.
I felt the sun on my skin
and the smell of grass.
I got hugs.

I did not have to go anywhere.
I was just here.
