Beyond steps

Before you
I found it hard to see that a relationship
does not have to move forward,
is not about taking the next step.

With you,
I find it easy
to think of us as hearts that relate,
(for when I close my eyes you are there with me)
to just stand still with you
(in the wind whirling around us that is our love)
to step beyond myself, with you
(in the place where we are real and true).
