My favourite Harry Potter quote ever:
Dumbledore:
“Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and above all those who lived without love.“
This quote, for all its cheesiness and postcard-worth, gives me immense peace, for those I have said goodbye to were loved (in life), and are remembered fondly.
I do not love half-heartedly, whether it be cats that died or men that were part of my story (yet not for me) or family I lost contact with and friends that are on a different path now than me. Only recently have I realized that pain does not make my heart hard or bitter; love remains. And in the end, my still soft heart remains open, to new loves of all kinds, and to new beginnings.
And it furthermore gives me a new perspective: to focus my attention on and give my time to people with a soft, open and loving heart, for animals, for humans, for life.
I wish you exactly those people by your side at all times.🙂😁
And I consider myself blessed and am grateful for my companions on the sometimes bumpy road – whether they are four-legged or two-legged ones. It does not matter, as long as they have a loving heart. ❤ Cheers!
