Redecoration is in order

– my heart feel like spring –

After weeks of fairy lights, cheerful pine cones and reindeer made of wood, baubles and the smell pf Christmas in the air, it was finally time. We took down the Christmas decorations last weekend.

It always amazes me how good it feels to redecorate the flat after seasons have changed. It is a simple joy, to choose new candles, maybe a differently-coloured one, and a new colour scheme (hear hear) and to simple find a new perfect place for something. My boyfriend left me to it, poor him. 😋

The white lantern now holds a fat red candle (no, red is not my Christmas colour, ice blue and dark green and silver are, so it was time for a change…) and on the dining room table there is a light green tablecloth. Butterflies decorate a glass bowl and my colourful bouquet of rosè roses, yellow tulips and red daisies gives the room a feeling of spring, in addition to the smell of it. My favourite flower, a Gerbera, holds the spotlight in a gigantic narrow vase on the floor.🌸
The wall next to the dining-room table has just been painted in a creamy colour that reminds me of the beach.
A wooden box is filled with sand at the bottom and seashells and clear vases promise the arrival of summer after spring.

Everything feels light and cheerful. So do I. I love decorating.
