Due to an unfortunate chain of events, I was sick twice in a row after my short vacation on the Canary Islands. However, I don’t want to dwell in my misery… let’s just say I could not leave the flat for several days, had to avoid contact with others and was forced to eat like a toddler – potato soup and mashed carrots being the highlight of my recovery phase 1. (phase 2 peaked with pasta and tomatoe sauce – yeah! 😂)
In the days stuck at home, I rediscovered some simple pleasures I had taken for granted before. Their simplicity may seem obvious, yet to me this phase was a clear reminder that it is the simplicity of my really good life I treasure.
Here are some things I missed❤
– feeling energetic and full of life when waking up
– kissing my boyfriend whenever I want
– my morning coffee with lots of milk foam
– getting up together and enjoying that coffee on the sofa
– talking to my favourite colleagues at work
– eating what appeals to me and what makes me happy
– leaving the house to run errands and actually do my own grocery shopping
– meeting a good friend for dinner
– sleeping next to my boyfriend
– not feeling nauseous
– being painfree
– consciously being aware of my surroundings
Now that I have fully recovered, I feel like I see my life and my world with more grateful eyes. I have sincerely missed it. ❤
