The alarm clock goes off
and rips me out of dreams of sunshine and the ocean breeze.
Grumpily I slouch to the coffeemachine,
as usual half falling over half stepping on my four-legged friends (who are, admittedly confused. Early is the hour…!).
Coffee and a shower later, I am in my teacher-outfit and wondering whether make-up is needed.
No. A tan is enough.
Nobody is outside when I walk to my car, bags and stuff I need plus breakfast half weighing me down. As I drive to the highway I curse the location of my school and turn up the radio, listening to Corona-news (again) and mentally checking off my pack list. I wonder if it will be fun being back despite all the pandemic regulations?
And then I follow a curve and see it.
Blue sky in front of me over a familiar mountain range. On the left soft green hills, a bit of mist on the meadows before it. Above them clouds in all shades of red, their surface so beautiful it makes me smile. Only nature can be this pretty at way-too-early-am.
It is good to be back.
P.S.: Yes, it was still fun.
