Do you remember what the ocean tastes like?
Do you remember the feeling of weightlessness once you go under, and the utter silence that embraces you, and suddenly you can hear your own heartbeat?
Do you remember looking forward to your long-awaited arrival at the new destination, and your childlike excitement about all the new things yet to discover?
Do you remember what curiosity feels like, inside of you, and do you remember the sudden urge to see and taste and feel it all at once? See the beach and wade into the ocean, jump into the pool on the way back, fool around on the bed and try everything on the menu.
Do you remember what summer smells like? Warm rain on an asphalt street at night, and on a hot and dry evening the richness of the trees and flowers in the gardens around you that settles on the ground and your nose. Beautiful.
Do you remember what freedom feels like? And natural joy? And a carefree happiness?
When I close my eyes, I do. They are inside me.
