# Recovery/ Stillness

Waking up weak but without any pain
to the sounds of my love in the kitchen;
listening to his music in the bathroom and
slowly dancing a few insecure steps with him before he leaves.

Drinking coffee back in bed, sitting upright for a change,
observing the clouds outside my window passing by (the light not giving me a headache today) –
as do some random thoughts, which do not grab ahold of me-
while the washing machine is softly humming in the background, a normal sound comforting me.

Knowing I have nowhere to go and nothing to do,
but recovering and healing;
feeling loved and appreciated even if I’m out of sorts;
slowly reading a fantastic book after days without engulfing a good story,
and hearing our tiger cat playing with a red Christmas bauble a few days after Easter.

I feel better.
I see my world.
