As I am sitting here,
huddled in my sweater, thick socks and a blanket,
it strikes me.
You would understand, maybe only you.
The need to sit outside, alone,
even though it is cold –
when the world is only just waking up,
when the birds are still singing,
when I can feel the cold breeze on my face,
and when I am still half asleep and my mind is open.
Coffee, my pen and my cats are my company,
as are my own thoughts.
Today, they are drifting to you. Maybe to where you are sitting outside, too early, too.
Wherever you are, I hope you shine. Actually, I know you do.
Wherever you are, I hope your close ones appreciate you.
Wherever you are, I wish you joy.
